Thank you!
I decided to run for office because I have a vision for a stronger, safer, and more just South Minneapolis. I decided to run for office because our community deserves legislative leadership and action on the most acute and pressing challenges our neighbors face. I’ve had hundreds of conversations with my neighbors — and with many of you — about that vision. And my incredible team of staff and volunteers has worked unceasingly to make that vision a reality.
Over the past several weeks, and especially at Sunday’s convention, it became clear to me that there is one other candidate in this race that I trust to fulfill this vision on behalf of our community — and that’s Anquam Mahamoud.
Anquam is a passionate and thoughtful leader — a hard-working and committed care worker who I believe will make a fine representative for our community. That’s why I am committing to voting for Anquam in the August 13 primary, and I’m asking all of my supporters to do the same.
It’s been a great honor to run for this seat, and I’ve gained so much from the conversations I’ve had with neighbors and the new connections I’ve made along the way. I’m hopeful our community can continue this important public dialogue and support Anquam in her journey towards leadership on our behalf at the Capitol.
In solidarity,
Bill Emory
